Knight's Lines Strategy Game

The Knight’s lines game will help your child develop critical thinking and logical reasoning skills. Every time you play, you should try to improve your strategy and see what works better. Watch your learning curve grow exponentially.

Coordinates Connected to Create Pictures

We made the direct connection between coordinate points and art. Students were asked to plot points on a Cartesian Plane and then connect them in order. When they reach a Stop sign at the end of a shape this means that you should not connect the last shape with the next shape.

Cartesian Coordinates — Plotting on a 2D Plane

A Cartesian coordinate system specifies each point uniquely in a plane by a pair of numerical coordinates measuring distance from an origin (0,0) first horizontally (the x-axis) and then vertically (the y-axis).

Algebraic Notation — Knight’s Tour and Other Applications

Algebraic Notation is a method for recording coordinates in 2 or 3 dimensions. We started our exploration of this fascinating topic by looking at games like chess, checkers, bingo, battleship and many others. In chess, when a Knight moves it is notated by Nf3 if it were to move to the f column and the third row. Why N? Because the King uses K. Bingo uses moves like B11.
