About Us

David Kramer

Founding Mathlete Nation – Mathlete Nation was started in 2003 by a group of Dover moms who wanted their children to not only do better in school but also learn to love math.  They approached David Kramer with a proposal to teach groups of third graders once per week after-school. Through word of mouth only, his experiment turned into a life’s mission by Mr. Kramer who now teaches 15 classes of with a total of over 100 children from kindergarten to sixth grade.

Experience – Mr. Kramer is a high school math teacher at Medfield High School.  He teaches Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II at all levels and runs the Chess Club at Medfield.

Mr. Kramer is an adjunct Professor of Law and Ethics at Babson College teaching over 200 MBAs per year business law and the philosophy of ethics.

In his spare time, Mr. Kramer teaches negotiation strategy to large company executives and continues to practice law for select clients.

Formerly, Mr. Kramer was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Stop & Shop and its Dutch parent, Ahold USA.

Education -- Mr. Kramer graduated from Georgetown University (B.S. 1984, Cum Laude) and Boston College Law School (J.D. 1987, Cum Laude).

Location – Classes meet in Dover, MA or Wellesley, MA Monday through Friday after school.

Forming a Class – Mr. Kramer likes to accommodate the schedules of busy parents by letting them request a time (e.g., 3:10pm, 4:10pm, or 5:10pm).  Then the “sorting hat” is used to place children by grade, ability, and convenience. The class meets for 50 minutes, but this usually turns into an hour due to the enthusiasm of Mathletes who sometimes find it hard to leave and Mr. Kramer who finds it difficult to break a child’s momentum.
